Finch Bakery is an award-winning bakery in Lancashire, UK founded and run by twin sisters, Lauren and Rachel Finch.
Well known for their mouthwatering product range, and their honest, fun, relatable, and massively popular social media presence, the Finch Bakery website needed to build on this brand personality as well as launching a new aspect of the business... delicious treats, delivered to your door.
We worked together to create a memorable online experience which delights and draws in their loyal customers, as well as engaging with their huge social media following, all of whom can now enjoy Finch Bakery’s amazing products no matter where they are in the world.
Look and feel
The Finch Bakery website primarily has two purposes: an online store for customers to order delicious treats direct to their door, as well as a home for information about the Lancashire bakery’s award winning offering in order to answer frequently asked questions and reduce the vast number of messages that the team receive on a daily basis.
Carefully considering the user journey, structure and layout of the website throughout the process ensured that the online store was optimised for conversions, and met the bakery’s commercial objectives.

Taking inspiration from the bakery’s interior walls, I worked with Kate Illustrate to digitise her illustrations and transform them into a seamless doodle pattern which could be used in the background of the website.
With the majority of traffic coming from social media, the mobile experience was of paramount importance.
Using a mobile first approach, I made sure to ensure an optimal viewing experience across all devices and screen sizes.
To add to the playful and kooky tone of the website, we made subtle use of emojis, bouncy animations and curved block edges throughout.
With a memorable, eye catching online store, and useful information and answers to FAQs now located in one convenient place, the Finch Bakery team can focus on what they do best... baking!
And now, with an easy to manage online store, the Finch Bakery team can seamlessly manage orders, amend product availability, track sales, and market their products, all on one platform... even from their mobile phones if need be! On-brand order, delivery and account notifications are sent automatically at each stage of the customer journey.
